The Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at the HDBW, a private and state-recognised university in Munich and Bamberg, focus on business, technology and digitalisation. They take place in close cooperation with Bavarian and international companies.

Overview: All Master’s degree programmes at HDBW

The HDBW offers 4 master’s degree programmes - either as full-time or part-time studies in Munich. The first three programmes are lectured entirely in English:

Digital Business Modeling and Entrepreneurship | Master of Arts (M.A.)

This master’s program is lectured entirely in English and focuses on how digitalization changes business models. We look at technological aspects from the customers’, management’s and process perspective.

Digital Factory and Operational Excellence | Master of Science (MSc.)

We deal with digital influences and methods for fundamental analyses and manufacturing organization of production process, logistics and global supply chain management. Lecture langguage is English.

Cyber Security | Master of Science (MSc.)

Qualification of IT security experts dealing with technological, management and legal challenges & solutions of the entire cyber landscape. Lectures taught entirely in English.

Digital Technologies | Master of Engineering  (MEng.)

This master’s program is combining the most important digital technologies, concepts and methods with the economic knowledge  to establish a digital start-up, develop a business plan and to market products and services. Lecture language is German.

Completed bachelor’s degree with 210 ECTS, depending on chosen master program, in:

  • Industrial Engineering with Business Studies
  • (Economic) Computer Science

  • 100% English (B2 Level) in Digital Business Modelling and Entrepreneurship / Cyber Security / Digital Factory and Operational Excellence
  • German and partly English (B2 Level in both languages) in Digital Technologies

Monthly tuition fee in the Master's degree programmes

  • 720 € full-time study 3 semesters
  • 432 € part-time study 5 semesters

  • Examination period generally until Mid-February

Duration Summer Semester

  • March 15th until September 30th
  • Lectures from Mid-March until beginning of July
  • Examination period generally until end of July
  • March 14th (Summer Semester) and September 30th (Winter Semester) for national and EU-applicants
  • December 15th (Summer Semester) and June 30th (Winter Semester) for non-EU-applicants. Why? Veryfing your application documents, visa processs etc. take much longer!
  1. Apply via the online application form and attach documents needed or send later:
    - Motivation letter
    - Tabular Curriculum Vitae
    - Proof of English language competency; e.g. TOEFL, IELTS
    - Original bachelor’s degree certificate, diploma and transcript of records as well as a certified German translation, if the original documents are neither in German nor in English
    - Copy of identification card or passport
    - For non-EU-citizens: Visa and Residence permit
  2. Interview with the course director (also possible via Skype)
  3. Once you have been accepted by HDBW, you will receive your study contract

Overview: HDBW Bachelor's degree programmes - German lectured only

We offer three types of bachelor's degree programmes: full-time studies, part-time studies, or dual track courses (a combination of on-the-job-training and studies).

You obtain 210 ECTS with this bachelor’s degree. And you can focus on different subjects, dependent on number of participants, within your major field of study:

Business Administration | Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Industrial Engineering with Business Studies | Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.)

Business Informatics / Business Intelligence | Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Mechanical Engineering | Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.)

Details on bachelor studies at HDBW

Equivalent to the German “Abitur” – i.e. graduation from high school, A-levels.

100% German: B2 language level is required.

540 € monthly tuition fee for full-time and dual track courses.

7 semesters full-time, including a full-time internship during the 6th semester

Duration Winter Semester

  • October 1st until March 14th

  • March 15th until September 30th
  • Lectures from Mid-March until beginning of July
  • Examination period generally until end of July
  • September 30th of each year for for national and EU-applicants
  • June 30th for non-EU-applicants. Why? Veryfing your application documents, visa processs etc. take much longer!
