Teaching Philosophy of Professor Dr. Matthias Pfeffer
"In the field of production and logistics, a solid analytical approach is always required. I want to challenge and support the students in building this methodological understanding.
Since I have been working in the area of factory planning and optimization for over 20 years, it is important to me to pass on this practical knowledge. Examples, case studies, and projects from real life are just as essential in my lectures as the corresponding theoretical content. Only the combination of these factors gives students a comprehensive understanding of the processes in companies and across business boundaries.
To make all of this more 'tangible,' I place great emphasis on organizing excursions to companies within various modules. Additionally, we fully involve students in industrial projects and research initiatives that also take place with the companies. Here, the knowledge learned is directly applied."
His motto in teaching: "Analytical thinking. Practical action. Independent implementation."
